Sharing tips on saving money

.......................~~~~~~~~~~~~ HELPING ONE ANOTHER ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...............

Thought it would be great to share & receive some tips on saving money in today's economy as EVERY dollar counts. Some of these may sound primitive, bPt what does it hurt to try them and see if it works for you and your family. :))

1. Meals -- leftovers are now consumed at my home. Ex. Lets say I have a pot of Chili for dinner & we are tired of it & would normally just trash it. Not anymore!! Now I think of something new to do with this meal. So I simply add some potatoes, corn & shredded cheese. Now we have what I call Indian Stew! Or I freeze a lot of leftovers now. Freezing properly and with using it in a timely manner surprisingly a lot of foods still taste just as good. Just stop throwing out leftovers and think what could I put this in to use it up!! You will be surprised at how much we have been wasting.

2. Name Brands -- This can really save you lots of money. The trick to this is you just have to try cheaper brands and see what works for you and your family. A lot of foods I have found are really not that different. Somethings like dish detergent is a different story. I can buy cheaper, but have to use twice as much. Therefor I am really not saving. But just needs give different brands a chance & see what works for your family.

3. Cleaning -- Well this has been known for years to many, but maybe some of you don't know. Vinegar , vinegar and more vinegar (white vinegar) Baking Soda. Lemon juice. These are cheap cheap cleaning supplies. Stove top cleaning to a little in your laundry. Windex well I buy the cheap brands of windex and sometimes this is really cheap way to clean glass. mix vinegar and water and take a piece of newspaper and dip in the mix and wipe. Then wipe with a dry piece of newspaper. Shines like new!

4. Fragrance -- I love candles!! However cheap candles only smell when you put your nose right up to it. And Yankee well they take my 30.00 a little to often. An old trick my grandma taught me has become a part of my household now. Vanilla, almond, extract. Any scent you wish. When your lights are off and the bulb is completely cooled put a dab of the extract on the bulb. When you cut it on it heats up and puts off the smell. I also soak a cotton ball and place on my filter in the return to my ac/heat. I pour vinegar and baking soda in my drains at night to let them soak to keep them clean and odor free. Cups of amonia placed in a safe place
